Club Viva! 408 N Euclid Ave St Louis MO (314) 361-0322
Bar/Club
Viva is one of the best dance clubs in the city--one of the most integrated, most open, most inspired and, yes, most sweaty. Its subterranean locale, a basement space in the Central West End, is somewhat claustrophobic: low ceilings, no windows, scattered columns throughout. But Viva seems to draw some of its energy from this compactness. |

Faces 130 Collinsville Ave East St Louis IL (618) 271-7410
Techno & Industrial
visit thier website for more information
Faces is always thumping, with drag to die for, karaoke, pool tables, drink specials and of course, that huge dance floor complete with stainless steel cages and the ever-present bone-crushing beats |
 |
M.P. O'Reilly's 5627 Manchester Ave St Louis MO (314) 781-4487
club/bar
visit thier website for more information
Half bar, half dance club, M.P. O'Reilly's is the place to see and be seen for the college crowd--there are plenty of recent grads, too. Innocuous pop--Sugar Ray, Dave Matthews--provides the energetic soundtrack for flirting. Guys decked out in cobalt-blue shirts and chinos flock around the pool tables, not so discreetly checking out each attractive coed who walks in |

The Complex 3515 Chouteau Ave St Louis MO (314) 772-2645
gay Bar/Club
visit thier website for more information
A good portion of St. Louis' gay clubs sit in clusters, an intimate place next to a thumping disco next to a piano bar, each one catering to a separate clientele. The Complex, however, brings together a little of each of these worlds, with a variety of rooms to suit different tastes, from a dark basement bar to the flashy Probe's disco to a side billiards room. The Complex also houses a restaurant, which serves simple, reasonably priced fare. There's even an outdoor sand volleyball pit for the summer months |
